Training Course: Project Management in Volunteer Projects

Desription: “Project Management in Volunteer projects” was a training course with main aim the fostering of capacity building of youth organizations by delivering their workers and leaders concepts and tools to design, write, implement, manage and evaluate volunteer projects. By augmenting their knowledge and capabilities on these matters, we wished to make them able to multiply the acquired skills and information by sharing it with their youth, enabling them to use their skills in projects on voluntary basis.

For 7 days, the 24 participants, coming from 8 countries from European Union and SEE, worked together in Durres, in Albania, shared their knowledge and ideas, challenges and opportunities, cooperated to achieve their goal using different working styles. One of the key point of the training was the creation of new projects, at local or international level, and new networks for sustainable cooperation. Throughout all the course, non formal education was the main methodology, with practical methods such as simulations, round tables, open space for discussions, role plays and anything stimulating the creativity and active participation of participants oriented towards their learning needs, making them gain the experience directly on their skin. There were also theoretical inputs, analyzing success stories and sharing of best practices in order to gain inspiration for future work.

The objectives of the course were as follows: To build capacity in youth leaders and workers to create, implement, manage and evaluate successful volu nteer projects; To share tools, challenges, ideas and best practices to increase the quality of volunteer projects; To promote volunteering as a life experience to obtain new skills and competence; To create new networks for sustainable cooperation in the field of volunteering, focusing on partnerships between EU and SEE.
