Into the period May-June, together with experts, educators and teachers, we have created a methodology for youth employees, related to social change through sport.
The methodology provides theoretical and practical guidance to youth workers and teachers how to integrate young people at risk of social exclusion (minorities, young people with disabilities) through sports activities. The work version of the methodology was also tested by conducting a series of local training’s, consisting of theoretical explanations on the methodology of education through sport (ETS).
The training was followed by a demonstration of the methodology and a practical workshop for the participants. As a result, over 50 youth workers were trained to work with young people, based on the established methodology.
This educational tool was used in a number of European countries to tackle a number of society problems, such as lack of communication, basic human rights and freedoms, limiting divorce behavior such as aggression and violence, empowerment, and a sense of belonging. In view of the enormous potential of personal development methodology, which also reflects the desire of children and young people to attend sporting activities, sports professionals have expressed their positive inclination to use elements of it in the training they carry out.
- Improved motivation and willingness of children to learn, and facilitating teachers to integrate young people more easily through sport;
- Provided new learning opportunities for those, willing to become coaches, trainers, instructors, educators in the sports sector, in order to increase their opportunities and the chance to start a new job;
- Encouraged use of an innovative approach (informal methods) in the sports sector to strengthen the training path and specialization of coaches, trainers, instructors, teachers, animators in the sports sector, managers and employees;
- Strengthened role of sport as a method of integration, social inclusion and equal opportunities and raised awareness of its potential.
