ART4HRE – Education ABOUT / FOR / THROUGH The Human Rights is a long-term project that aimed to address the issue of disenchantment of young people by providing capacities to youth workers as trainers for human rights education who use creative expression, arts, non-formal education and informal learning as a tool to empower youth and embrace them to human rights to transform society also and to equip youth workers with knowledge in human rights and democratic citizenship.

All the participants had the chance to take part in border game and put themselves in the shoes of migrants, border officers and observers. The day was full of new knowledge and skills, to put themselves in others’ shoes, to find out how it feels when there is a violation of human rights. And as a best end of the meeting we had our art session – when everyone had the space to express his opinion and protect human rights through art. Stay tuned for more news. Stay with us. The participants discussed what freedom of expression and hate speech is, how to report hate speech. And even more – they got to know more about the situation regarding human rights is in all the presented countries. One of the most interesting part was defending human rights through art.

Our participants had the chance to touch and feel the Bulgarian culture trough cooking, dancing, music and exploring various old traditions with our special guests. All of the participants dressed in Bulgarian traditional costumes and played the traditional Bulgarian dances – horo.



  1. Youth exchange was carried out with 40 young people from 8 European countries;
  2. Topics discussed such as human rights, citizenship, equal opportunities, art forms and methods;
  3. The youth message for “not hate speech” and the fight against all forms of discrimination and violence was delivered;
  4. Young people’s interest in the issues of “different” – migrants, people with disabilities, non-formal education methods has been enhanced.
