International Seminar: Active Citizenship Through Inclusion and Volunteering in Europe
Description: In the current regional and European context, a large number of young people, especially those from disadvantaged and marginalized groups [Roma, disabled, in social-economical difficulty, from remote communities, migrants] have limited access to education and training, quality services [housing, health, culture and justice], being often submitted to discrimination, poverty and risk of marginalization.
In this context, the priority is to support youth networking and cooperation among youth organizations and individuals [youth workers, representatives of youth organizations, trainers, multipliers, youth leaders, facilitators, young people, etc. ] in the field of social inclusion.
Following objectives were carried: It was created a framework for discussion, debate and sharing with respect to promoting social inclusion, active citizenship, access to rights and facilitating the participation of young people; was supported and facilitated development of a joint framework of sustainable cooperation and joint action between the p articipants in the field of combating social exclusion; was familiarized the participants with the Council of Europe’s and European Youth Foundation’s values, practices and resources, as well as with the available support, at local, national and internatio nal level for youth initiatives and activities in the field of social inclusion.
