Youth Exchange – Life’s Steps
The project “Life’s Steps” took place in Romania with partners from Hungary, Bulgaria and Slovakia, during 8 days as a part of Youth in Action program, action 1, sub-action 1.1 Youth Exchange project. The aim of the project was to motivate young people to gain social competence and skills to be active citizens in society.
The objectives of the project were to increase active citizenship, to inspire friendship and mutual understanding through dance, to offer young people the chance to be part of a group, to learn more about different ways of spending free time, to discover other cultures, to raise self-esteem and self confidence and to get involved in creating an international atmosphere.
The activities of the project were name activities and games, energizers and ice-breakers, workshop for understanding dance culture and learning dance steps, movie projection, intercultural evenings, dance sessions, theatre workshops, evaluation meetings, team-building games etc. The methods used during the project were power point presentations, short movies presentations, group interaction, and interviews. During the project participants worked in mixed dance and theatre groups. At the end of the project each group performed their own dance choreography and theater play.
