The training course “One Image, One Message” gathered young people from 10 countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Turkey with Club for Youth Empowerment 018 as a host.

The project “One Image, One Message” was focused on raising the awareness about the position of the youth coming from marginalized groups, dealing with the issues of social inclusion, intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity and the use of creative methods such as photography and comics in intercultural learning, social inclusion and cultural diversity projects. It will educate them how to use creative methods that are close to young people such as photography and comics to promote social inclusion and development of inclusive society. Concept photography and comics was used where participants learned how to transfer a message through specific concepts such as: Equality; Diversity; Love; Culture; Inclusion; Intercultural; Respect; Dialogue and similar. Photography and comics is the main method to show cultural differences and how people can see common things from different point of view A key priority of the project is to give young people with fewer opportunities access to mobility and non-formal education, as well as integration and cultural exchange.

Objectives:

  • To raise the awareness about the position of the youth coming from marginalized groups focusing on Roma youth;
  • To provide young people with theoretical knowledge and skills as well as methods on promotion of social inclusion, intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity, with special focus on inclusion of youth coming from socially excluded groups such as Roma and encourage them to become more involved in the these issues on the local level in order to contribute to the development of inclusive society;
  • To educate young people how to use creative methods that are close to young people such as photography and comics to promote social inclusion and development of inclusive society;
  • To provide participants with basic knowledge and information about Youth in Action program – youth exchanges, trainings and networking, EVS, Youth Pass.

“One Image, One Message” included:

 

  • Thematic workshops on discrimination marginalized groups, social inclusion, cultural diversities and intercultural dialogue; on YiA program and possibilities it offers;
  • Creative workshops – methods of creative expression through photography and comics to promote social inclusion and development of inclusive society. Concept photography and comics was used as the tool where participants learned how to transfer a message through specific concepts such as: Equality; Diversity; Love; Culture; Inclusion; Intercultural; Respect; Dialogue – participants will have tasks to present these specific concepts through photo and comics ; workshops will provide both theoretical and practical knowledge. Also, the practical part of workshops – creative methods in interculturalism will give them the possibility to explore their creativity while they learn how to use these methods for the sake of cultural diversities.
